I could make out the glimmering spot through the small outward-facing portal of my shiny new living space. Oddly brighter than all these other stars, it faintly undulated. Glaring at that one, singular glimmer now hurt my eyes.

It’s out there… right there… Earth… right there… right now…

They are out there… all of them… all of humanity. Only for a few more moments, my species… my history… my people…
