The Last Last Lecture
21 [Ancient Before]
(fragment)
SIXTH BOOK
6 Grigori-Watchers, with lusty crafts and fragrant potions intercoursed with the daughters of men,
7 and becoming full with their offspring, died them all during child-birth; children of vile shape, stature, and inclinations.
8 Renown of old, N’f’lm filled the earth, next to all from Chava-mother.
9 Grigori were able to hide from the sight of Chava-Tebel-hadam.
10 So increased the Iri-song in every of Chava-mother son and daughter,
11 full of evil thought and wicked intent always, the triad-tones of dissonance of Tov V’ra in every song

Doctor Elizabeth Johnson, having grown up in the Bible Belt, and hearing the fired-up preaching of the South, knew what she had just expertly translated. Sure, there’s some drift of thought here, but…
The waves of nausea held until she got to the small work-room trash can. Waves turned to bile-heaves in the canister.
Wiping her mouth with a Kleenex, and with the fresh taste of bile in her mouth, she took the photo-file and opened the flap. Drawing the 8 x 10 out, she set it next to the laptop, slid on the work-bench stool, and stared.
Taken by herself just two days ago during her trip to that same Jericho discovery cave, there was the just-discovered cave-wall carving of a bizarre object that no-body on the site team could even understand. There, carved into the cave-stone was the image of some bloated flower-bulb with octopus-tendrils sprawled out, one of which was ‘offering’ a hominid figure something… round.
Elizabeth stared at the photo, another wave of nausea rising up.
She had just translated the story of humanities’ infection by some alien invasion. The Bible-belt version was far more sanitized; this version… so perverse
And now, she was staring at a rendering of the carving of the Tov V’ra described in the text…
…and a graphic depiction of the terminal infection of mankind.
